Selling my personal Hero because I switched to the Edge. I rode an Edge on my Orange some years ago but thought the Hero would be a better match for my Starling. 1. My Starling can be changed from a 165mm Enduro to a 140mm trail-bike. 2. The thinner tubes of the Hero match the aesthetics of the thin steel tubes. 3. I ride trail casing, light rims, racing spokes and never brake anything.
The Hero was perfect for 95% of the trails but it was not very stable in rough fast sections and bike park. I tested the Edge and it is a big difference in those sections. The only disadvantage is the 200g weight penalty.
I would recommend this fork for a Hardtail. Also lighter riders or riders that ride steep, narrower, natural alpine trails that can't be ridden fast will love it.
